The aim of the article is to make evident that not all propagandistic strategies to mobilize emotions are alike. It shows how different the ways can be in which the military, the society and the individuel are orchestrated as audiovisual images. Comparing Frank Capra’s WHY WE FIGHT-Series with a film by Leni Riefenstahl, very distinct strategies to influence the spectator and very different ideas of commonality can be demonstrated.
